The Big Ask: March 2026
On 18th March, the Green United Youth Board welcomed the Lewes community to the Town Hall for our third Big Ask, and it truly was a fantastic evening.

We were honoured to have the evening officially opened by Mayor Emily Clarke. With over 70 adults and children joining us, the room was full of energy, encouragement, and a real sense of community. It was so special to see people of all ages coming together to listen to and support the voices of young people.
We began by celebrating the past couple of years and saying a big thank you to everyone who has helped make youth-led projects happen across Lewes. So many brilliant ideas have already been brought to life thanks to the time, skills, and generosity of our community.
The heart of the evening was hearing from our Youth Board, who shared eight important local concerns. They spoke with honesty, confidence and passion, inviting all of us to think about how we might help turn these ideas into action.

We were pleased to close the evening with reflections from Councillor Wendy Maples, whose words captured the spirit of the event and the importance of listening to young people:
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the evening such a success. We could not do it without you.
