Green United Clothes Swap: A Huge Success Once Again!
After raising concerns about the fashion industry’s environmental footprint, the Green United Youth Board decided to take action! In 2024, they launched an inter-school clothes swap, which proved to be a resounding success. Now, in 2025, the initiative has returned, bigger and better than ever.
On Saturday, 15th March 2025, 79 young people from Lewes schools came together to exchange clothes, promoting sustainability and reducing waste. The event was well attended, with many participants leaving with smiles on their faces and bags full of stylish, pre-loved clothing.
The clothes swap was organised by teacher Helen Tilling from LOGS and Abigail Petit from Abigail’s Drapery. In addition to the swap, Abigail led a hands-on workshop, teaching attendees how to transform old clothes into unique, personalised fashion pieces. The event highlighted the creativity and enthusiasm of the Green United young organisers, who played a key role in making it all happen.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the Clothes Swap 2025 such a fantastic success!
